# Heroes

Heroes are seasoned generals with extensive battlefield experience, granting them extraordinary mastery of warfare. This allows them to command vast armies with unwavering confidence, their swords never trembling.

As NFTs, heroes determine the size of your army. Their rarity influences their starting base size, with higher rarity offering greater initial size.

<table><thead><tr><th width="283">Rarity</th><th>Size Troops Lvl 0</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>None</td><td>10</td></tr><tr><td>Common</td><td>10</td></tr><tr><td>Uncommon</td><td>20</td></tr><tr><td>Rare</td><td>30</td></tr><tr><td>Epic</td><td>40</td></tr><tr><td>Legendary</td><td>50</td></tr></tbody></table>

* All army size upgrades are applied directly to the hero's base size.
* Leveling up increases your base army size by 10%.

Additionally, depending on the hero's rarity, you will receive a bonus to the **base chance** of completing missions:

<table><thead><tr><th width="287">Rarity</th><th>Increased Chance</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>None</td><td>2%</td></tr><tr><td>Common</td><td>2%</td></tr><tr><td>Uncommon</td><td>4%</td></tr><tr><td>Rare</td><td>6%</td></tr><tr><td>Epic</td><td>8%</td></tr><tr><td>Legendary</td><td>10%</td></tr></tbody></table>

Each hero belongs to a specific civilization, which provides a **10% increase in the effectiveness** of their troops when your army is composed of units from the **same civilization**. (Only applies to troops of the same civilization)

<table><thead><tr><th width="287">Hero</th><th>Civilization</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Odysseus</td><td>Greeks</td></tr><tr><td>Achilles</td><td>Greeks</td></tr><tr><td>Ramses II</td><td>Egyptians</td></tr><tr><td>Keops</td><td>Egyptians</td></tr><tr><td>Ragnar</td><td>Nordics</td></tr><tr><td>Harald</td><td>Nordics</td></tr></tbody></table>

\*See [missions](https://gods-glory.gitbook.io/gods-glory-whitepaper/game/missions "mention") for a better understanding of the total chance of a mission
